Thai Massage (assisted stretch)

A Supported Path to Release and Renewal

Gentle, hands-on support that invites the body to soften, lengthen, and rediscover balance.

Intro: Why Assisted Stretch?
Sometimes the body needs more than guidance — it needs to be held. Assisted stretch, rooted in Thai yoga therapy, combines mindful touch, rhythmic movement, and supported postures to create space where tension has taken hold. It is yoga received rather than performed, a chance to surrender into presence while your body is gently guided into openness.

How It Works
On a supportive mat, you’ll be moved through sequences of assisted stretches, gentle compressions, and guided breathing. These movements draw from traditional Thai yoga practices — often described as “lazy man’s yoga” — where the practitioner does the stretching for you. The experience is both grounding and liberating: a dance of pressure and release that helps the nervous system unwind.

Together, we explore:

  • Supported stretches that lengthen and restore mobility

  • Gentle rocking and traction to release deeply held tension

  • Rhythmic pressure along energy lines to encourage flow and balance

  • Breath-centered awareness, allowing body and mind to settle into ease

  • A sense of being held — safe, supported, and invited to soften

What You May Notice
With each session, many experience:

  • Release of muscular tightness and joint stiffness

  • Increased mobility and openness in the body

  • A sense of lightness, grounding, and restored flow

  • Nervous system calm — similar to the deep rest of savasana

  • The relief of being cared for without having to “do”

Assisted stretch is more than bodywork — it is an act of presence. It invites you to surrender effort, to feel supported, and to remember the ease that already lives in your body.
